Florence Helena Sturkey

Florence Helena Sturkey, 70, went to be with the Lord April 16, 2013.

Born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, she was an educator with the Copley-Fairlawn City Schools, Revere Local Schools and the University of Akron. Her affiliations include Middlebury Chapel, Kiwanis International, Ohio Middle School Association, Ohio Council of Teachers of English-Language Arts, and Weathervane Community Playhouse Board of Trustees.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and William Sturkey, II; and great nephew, Will. She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Linda, Robert and Erin, Edward and Daphne, Paul and Pam; sister, Janice; nephews and nieces, Myke, Dave, Sarah, Aaron, Jackson, Laura, Mitchell, Marissa and Rebecca; great niece, Peyton; and many cousins, colleagues and friends.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Cross Point Alliance Church, 855 Rothrock Rd., Copley, OH 44321, with Rev. Jim Gergon officiating. Private family inurnment at Mt. Peace Cemetery.
