Floyd Barnett, 74, of Circleville, OH, (formerly of Akron) died peacefully at home March 3, 2017, with his wife Sharron by his side, due to complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). He was born August 25, 1942 in Willard, OH, the son of Boyd and Nora Barnett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Boyd Barnett; brother, Loyd Barnett; and sister, Mardell (Ronald) Rhodes.
Floyd was a member of West Hill Baptist Church. He graduated from Hower Vocational High School, was a member of Coventry Masonic Lodge 665 and retired from Duff Truck Lines, Teamster Local 24. Floyd and Sharron moved to North Carolina where Floyd was a Century 21 Commercial Real Estate Agent and owned Wild Bull's Pizza.
Floyd's greatest joy in life was his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 56 years, Sharron (Garner) Barnett; children, Christine Barnett (John) Fowler and Jonathan Floyd (Christa) Barnett; grandchildren, Erika Rigsbee, Cassandra Fowler, Courtney Fowler, Craig Barnett, twins Jacob and Carter Barnett, and Caleb Barnett; sisters, Mildred (Ray) Binion-Etter and Betty (Dick) Shambaugh; several special nieces and nephews and other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, OH 44333. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CurePSP.org. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
