Floyd M. James, 91, of Norton, Ohio passed away January 30, 2015.
He was a graduate of Garfield High School. After graduating he proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Potomac during World War II. He worked for the Akron Board of Education for 36 years. Floyd was a train enthusiast and volunteered with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad in many capacities including playing Santa on the Polar Express as well for many relatives, friends and neighborhood children. He loved and spoiled his toy poodles and traveled extensively.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Irma; parents, Vaughn and Bertha; brothers, Robert and Kenneth; and sister, Vaughna.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Floyd's honor may be made to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
