Frances Ryan was born on 2/15/1936 and left this life on 2/4/2022. (She wants you to figure out her age.)
Fran is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Era Novella (Huddleston) Ryan.
She attended Margaret Park School and graduated from South High School and The University of Akron. Fran was a teacher until she chose a career in business at Mohawk/Yokohama Tire Company. She retired in 1995. Fran volunteered at various organizations including Goodyear Musical Theatre, the Akron Rape Crisis Center and, most recently, Summit Artspace. As an animal lover, many cats, birds, and wildlife benefitted from her care and love. She supported local artists of many genres. Her Akron apartment was a museum of the artifacts she collected created by the artists that she admired. In addition, she patronized local theater having a particular appreciation for None Too Fragile Theatre. Although she didn’t drive, Fran resourcefully traveled the USA and Europe, many times alone.
Many will miss Fran’s caring nature and selfless generosity including her close friends, Rosalie Russo and Chris, Leslie and Steve; Judy and Bill Logsdon and Susan; long-time friends, Brett, Denison, Randy, and Jan; and devoted neighbors, Jim and Joan. She will also be missed by her Rolenz cousins, Michael, Greg, Becky, Jenny and Kathleen.
Thank you to the team of Cleveland Clinic Hospice on Ridgewood Rd.
Cremation has taken place. Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Fran thanks all her friends for their caring and kindness through the years. Please celebrate her life by supporting local animal organizations, local artists and theater, and being present with a listening and non-judgmental ear, as Fran always was.
