Gail Billow Long, 61, died May 21, 2012.
Gail touched the lives of many through her job as a teacher at Jennings Middle School for 31 years and at St. Thomas Hospital where she was a receptionist at the information desk. A graduate of Firestone High School and Ashland College, she was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Phi Mu Sorority, Junior League of Akron, and the Women's Board of Summa Health System. Above all, she was a loving, wife, mother and friend.
Gail is survived by husband, Robert L.; son, John F. (fianceé, Kim Gray); daughter, Katherine L.; parents, Charles W. and Retta H. Billow; brother, Charles M. (Patricia); sisters, Ann (Mark) Grebelsky and Laura (Chip) Preston; nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., with Rev. Mark J. Pruitt officiating. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, Women's Board of Summa Health System Memorial Research Fund, or St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
