George A. Clark

George Arthur Clark went to be with His Lord and Savior on June 1, 2014 at Akron General Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends.

George was born August 26, 1933 sixth of ten children to George Albert and Marjorie Pearl (Cook) Clark in Vienna, Ohio.

He graduated from Vienna High School in 1951 and went into the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a Korean War Veteran who proudly served his country.

He served his community of Bath on the School Board of Revere Schools, was chairman of the Zoning Board of Bath Township from 1978-2007. He also served on the Little Hoover Commission.

He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Akron University School of Law in 1966. He worked with the Roetzel and Andress Law Firm from 1965-1991. He then went into private practice until he retired in 2007.

He was an active member at Bath United Church of Christ from 1972-2014. He served on Diaconate Board, Bread Winners, drove for Interfaith Hospitality Network, and was loved by the Tuesday Crafters for his woodworking.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Mary; daughter, Dr. Susan Elaine Clark Frantz (Robert); sons, Geoffrey Alan and Greggrey Alan Clark; grandchildren, Christopher and Kelly Frantz; brother, James Clark (Ruth); and sister, Edythe Warren both living in Florida.

Family and friends are invited to the committal service 10 a.m. Saturday at Moore's Chapel Cemetery followed by a memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday at Bath Church, with Rev. Mark W. Frey officiating. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bath Church, 3980 W. Bath Rd. Akron, OH 44333. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
