George Andrew Kormos

George Andrew Kormos , age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Southwest General Hospital, Middleburg Heights.

He was born February 19, 1935, in Cleveland.  He lived for many years in Middleburg Heights. On December 11, 1965, he married his loving and faithful wife, Karen Kormos (Blandino), who preceded him in death on February 24, 2017.  George is survived by his dear children, Kim Lucak (Bill) and Michael Kormos (Danielle).  He was blessed with two granddaughters, Emily and Stephanie Lucak. Loving brother of the late Charlotte Pittinger, Margaret Vislocky, Mary Ellen Pfrenger, and Anna Thompson and surviving sisters Patsy Pusateri and Sharon Petrick.

George loved serving others and was a retired Cleveland Firefighter, Real Estate agent, a member of the National Guard and was a faithful member of Ernest Angley’s Grace Cathedral.  He loved to fish and spend time with family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren, the great joys of his life. George loved nature and especially animals which he enjoyed feeding as well as caring for his pets.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a warm caring man who went out of his way to help others with his exceptional generosity, even people in need he just blessed as they ran across his path.  He was loved by all who met him and will be deeply missed by his family.

Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on THURSDAY, March 30, 2023, at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333. Funeral service will take place on SATURDAY, April 1, 2023, at 1:30 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel. Interment with military honors will take place at 10:00 AM on TUESDAY, April 4, 2023 at Woodvale Cemetery, 7535 Engle Rd., Middleburg Hts., OH 44130.
