George D. Mallo

November 3, 1947 — December 15, 2018

George D. Mallo, 71, attorney at law, of Las Vegas, Nevada, our beloved husband, brother, uncle ("unc"), and friend, passed away peacefully December 15, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on November 3, 1947, and was preceded in death by his parents, Offie and Rose; and brother, Larry.

George graduated from Ohio University and earned his law degree from Ohio Northern University College of Law in just two years. He was a well-respected attorney who had a highly successful law career in northeastern Ohio and also founded the Mallo Legal Clinic, which offered affordable legal services. In addition, George served for three consecutive years as Special Counsel to the Attorney General of Ohio.

After semi-retirement, George and his wife Joanna moved to Las Vegas where George earned his license to practice law in Nevada. He became General Counsel to his brother John's business, Budget Rent a Car, where he worked collectively with the Budget team, making a lasting impact with his knowledge, amazing ability to think outside the box, and sense of humor. George touched many lives both personally and professionally.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Joanna (Cerrone); siblings, John, Teresa and Michael; his brother Larry's son, Ryan; and his very special family who gave him great joy in life: John Jr.; Laurel and her children, Alexandra and Vincent; Joe and his daughter, Danielle; Tom and Petra and their daughter, Ella.

George was a life-long member of Akron St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, and offered his service as legal advisor. He was named after his grandfather, George Mallo, who was one of the church founders.
