George C. Mansour
George C. Mansour, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 22.
George was born at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 1920 in Akron, Ohio where he lived his life and raised his family. After retiring from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, George volunteered with Akron General Medical Center where he shared a special friendship with his "Monday gang" of volunteers and where he received excellent care over the past several months from the nursing staff of 7100, the Wound Center and the Physical Therapy Department.
George was preceded in death by son, George Michael; brothers, Ernie, Joseph and Mitchell; sisters, Isabelle, Josephine and Lorease.
George is survived by his wife of 60 years, LaVerne; sons, Dennis and Bruce Susan Hooper; daughter, Christine Hinman Patrick; grandchildren, Corey, Kelly, George, Brandon; three great-grandchildren; brother, Edward JoAnn and sister, Rosemary as well as beloved pet, Mr. Beasley.
Services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron 44304 with Rev. Landis Coffman officiating. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. If desired, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Food Bank.
