George J. Miller, age 80, of Parma, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
George Miller was born on October 31, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Pearl A. Miller and John G. Aschenbrenner. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War with honor. George dedicated his professional life to Value City, where his work ethic and loyalty made a lasting impression. A passionate sports fan, he cheered with heart and soul for all the Cleveland teams—win or lose. George was a constant presence at family celebrations and milestones, always ready with a story or a laugh, especially during the holidays he cherished most—Thanksgiving and Christmas. His warmth, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William, and his long-term companion, Phyllis Haley.
George is survived by his treasured sisters, Shirley Petrich and Virginia (Gerald) Barnes; beloved nephew, Jim (Hasmik) Petrich; and loving niece, Cheryl Petrich; and several cousins in Pittsburgh.
A private family service has taken place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in George’s name are suggested to St. Hilary’s Catholic Church, 2750 W Market St. Fairlawn, OH 44333.
