Gerald Peter Malak

Gerald Peter Malak, born September 1, 1934, passed away on September 18, 2020 with his loving wife of 60 years, JoAnn, at his side. He is survived by his daughters Michelle (Nick) and Kimberly (Jim), sister Christine (Alan), along with 5 grandchildren Justin (Maria), Felicia, Olivia, James and Elaina.  He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Mae, siblings Patricia and Ronald, and grandson Jacob.

Jerry had a successful career in the tool and die industry, greatly respected in his profession by his peers. Enjoying life to the fullest, he was an avid outdoorsman, embracing hunting, fishing, and biking, while also traveling the world. He had so many talents, from knowing a car inside and out, to building the finest furniture.  He shared several of these hobbies and talents with his daughters, but most importantly showing them true work ethic. Jerry, known as “high pockets” (his CB name) to his buddies, will be remembered for his dedication and being so very humble about all his incredible talents.

Calling hours Monday, September 28, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 am, at St. Hilary Parish, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn, Ohio.  Burial will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.  In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
