Geraldine L. "Geri" Glazier
Geri passed away on October 11, 2015 just one week after her 57th wedding anniversary with her husband, William M. "Bill" Glazier.
Geri was born in Salt Lake City to the late Charles (Dottie) Burrows and was raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She attended Eastern Michigan University and received her Nursing Degree from Henry Ford Hospital. She received a B.S. degree in Nursing Education and a Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Akron. Geri loved her job teaching at Akron General School of Nursing, and was so proud of the achievements of her students.
Geri loved music and played the violin in the University of Akron orchestra and The Akron Pops. She also played the organ for her own enjoyment. Geri also was elected as Mighty Chosen One, to Yusef Khan Caldron #24 and sang in the Grotto Chorus. In their retirement years Geri and Bill spent quality time together enjoying music, sailing, travelling and their home.
Preceded in death by her husband, Al Garen; she is survived by husband, William M. (Bill) Glazier; children, James (Chelsea) Garen, Richard (Cindy) Garen, Janet (Gregory) Polles, William M. (Rhonda) Glazier; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron 44333. Friends may call one hour before the service. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, OH 44270. A special thank you to the staff at the Gables of KentRidge and Harbor Light Hospice, for the excellent care given to her.
