Geraldine “Gerry” Allen (Larsen) , 101, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Concordia at Sumner; her little body just wore out.
Born in Akron, Ohio, she lived the majority of her life there raising 5 children with her husband, Charles.
She was a Buchtel High School graduate and attended Akron U. She volunteered with Bath Volunteers for Service and multiple volunteer departments with Akron General Hospital after the family was raised.
Gerry instilled in her family the love of animals, good music, art, nature and the beautiful things in life, often stopping to enjoy what God has provided with others.
Preceded by her husband, Charles, son, Charles, Jr., daughter-in-law, Berni Allen.
She will be missed by her children, Lockey McDonald, Mike Allen (Georgette), Betsy Phipps (Bill), Nancy Hearty (Chris) and lovingly remembered by her 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
We give our deepest gratitude for the outstanding care and friendship provided by Dr. Vern Hershberger. Her life was enriched by the care from Concordia at Sumner, where she was a founding resident. The attention provided by Southern Care Hospice was a big support for Gerry and truly appreciated by the family.
