Gerald "Jerry" Lee Watson

Gerald Lee Watson “Jerry” , age 93, of Copley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday June 16, 2024.

Born January 17, 1931 in Guernsey County, Ohio, he was the son of George and Freda Watson.

Jerry served in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. He retired from PPG in 1992 after 38 years and was a master carpenter. He loved spending time with his family playing skip-bo and “going fishing.” He was ornery and loved to pick on everyone and didn’t know a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, parents, sister Edna(Jerry) Conn, brother Raymond(Arlene) Watson and sister in law Wilma Watson.

Survivors include his children: Gloria(Mike) McAleese of Texas, Brenda Lucas of Copley, Kevin(Brenda) Watson of Suffield, Tammy(Todd) Boccia of Norton and Linda Lynden of Norton who we all consider family; grandchildren: Tim(Shelly) Lucas, Jeremy(Randi) McAleese, Jennifer(Camron) Stevens, Megan McAleese, Brandee Watson, Austin Boccia, and Kaylee Watson; great-grandchildren: Madee Hodges, Paige Lucas, Aiden Stevens, Jaxson McAleese and Blakely McAleese; two brothers: Roger Watson and Greg(Linda) Watson and a sister Pat(Terry) Langford; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, June 20th at 10:00AM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, OH 44333, with Pastor Dan Hanlon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn with full Army Honors. Friends may visit WEDNESDAY, June 19th from 5-7PM at the funeral home.
