Gino Pianalto

Gino Pianalto, 91, passed away peacefully on June 26 surrounded by his children.

Born in Lutie, Oklahoma on May 17, 1922, Gino moved with his family to Italy at a young age. He served in the Italian army in WWII. Gino returned to the US in 1958 followed a year later by his wife Adele and daughters. He settled in Akron where he had a successful concrete construction business. Gino returned often to his home in Italy to visit family and friends. His retirement years were spent enjoying his grandchildren and playing bocce and cards. Gino was devoted to his family and was a proud father and grandfather. Throughout his life he was
always ready to help others, had an amazing work ethic, and loved being surrounded by family, friends, and laughter. Gino was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church, Kenmore Italian Civic Club, and Sons of Italy.

Gino was preceded in death by his beloved wife Adele. He is survived by his loving children, Rosanna (Jon) Cameron, Sandra, Antonella, and James (Debbie); grandchildren, Stephanie, Alexandra, Jordan, JJ, Matthew, Adam, Joshua, Samantha whom he loved dearly; and a brother, Sebastiano in Italy.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 1 at 9:30 am at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Fairlawn. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa or St. Hilary Parish Foundation.
