Gladys Swinehart, 85, died May 12, 2010.
Born May 12, 1925 to William and Ruth Enlow Bell, she lived her entire life in Akron. Gladys graduated from Buchtel High School in 1943 and received her B.A. degree from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio in 1947. She was a former member of Grace United Church of Christ, and is now a member of First Presbyterian Church. She is a member of Billow Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years, Edgar Swinehart in 2006, she is survived by her children: sons, William Vicki Swinehart of Nolensville, Tenn. and James Lynne Swinehart; and daughter, Patricia Steve Ameling both of Akron. She leaves grandchildren, William Amanda of Lancaster, Ohio, Gregory Wendy of Smyrna, Tenn., Michael Swinehart and Trent Crowthers of Nolensville, Tenn., Carly Ameling and Dinara Ameling of Akron, Marc Bedillion of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; great-granddaughters, Ava Swinehart and Chloe Yancey; great-grandsons, Wyatt Swinehart, Julien Sheets, and Yelena Tarakova, Kazakhstan, whom she loved as her own granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, with Dr. Mark T. Ruppert officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
