Gladys Schmidt Tesar

Gladys Marie Schmidt Tesar, 83, passed away suddenly July 26th at Village at St. Edward Assisted Living. She had been a resident at St. Edward's for six years.

Gladys spent her entire life in the Akron area. She graduated from Garfield Heights in 1949. She retired from Akron General in 1991 with 35 years service. She then returned there to do volunteer service for 10 years. Gladys was an active member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church and their Saturday Nighters Sunday School Class.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Eugene Tesar; parents, Linnie and George Schmidt; and brother, Robert Schmidt. She is survived by nieces, Lucretia McGuire of Clinton, MD, and Theresa Schmidt of Milton, FL; nephews, Edward Schmidt of Milton, FL and Robert Schmidt of Stockton, CA.

Service will be held 10 am, Monday, July 30th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron with Dr. Walt S. Chisholm officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity or Montrose Zion United Methodist Church.
