Gloria S. Thomas, 92, died May 22, 2011.
Born in Akron, she was a life resident of the Stow area. She was of the Christian Science Faith and spent a lot of time studying the scriptures. Mrs. Thomas retired from the Akron Public Schools where she was a secretary and was very passionate about antiquing and traveling.
She is survived by son, Roger Diane Thomas of Hudson; grandson, Brad Shannon Thomas of Charlotte, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Brody Thomas; nieces, Marlene Guess, Cheryl Thomason, and Eileen Solomon; and nephew, Larry Guess.
Services will be held 12 p.m. Thursday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St. corner of 23rd St. and Falls Ave. with Lori Kleski officiating. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour before services. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
