Gwendolyn Virginia Watt

Gwen Watt, 88, died October 31, 2011. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in the area. A graduate of The University of Akron, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and the Faculty Women's Club. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and had retired from Akron Public Schools with 30 years service teaching 2nd and 3rd grades at Erie Island School.

Gwen is survived by Jack, her loving husband of 67 years; daughters, Deborah Burk of Coolville, Ohio and Jennifer Mattes of Columbus; grandchildren, Keith Burk Maureen, LeeAnn Mattes, Ryan Burk and Michael Mattes; and great-grandson, Gavin Burk.

A memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Inurnment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
