H. Phillip Buehl, 76, died August 31, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Akron, he lived here his entire life. Phil graduated from Kent State University, had been a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after 32 years and spent the rest of his days volunteering and helping others.
Preceded in death by his son-in-law, Daniel Henry D'Avello, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan; daughters, Lynn D'Avello and Alison Jeff Vezina; and granddaughter, Maria D'Avello.
Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. SATURDAY at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Derek Starr Redwine officiating. Inurnment will be 9:30 a.m. SATURDAY with military honors conducted by Charles Faust American Legion Post 281, at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1250 W. Exchange St., Akron 44313.
