Harold Allen Talley
Harold died peacefully on March 14, 2012 at age 91.
He was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee on April 10, 1920 to Vernon Talley and Elizabeth Clift, and had two brothers, James and Ellis, all who preceded him in death. Harold was a lifelong resident of Akron, graduating from East High School and attending Akron University where he played on the basketball team. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired from Underwriters Laboratories in 1981.
Harold is survived by his wife of sixty five years, Vera (nee Wester); his three children, Cynthia Kirk of Columbus, Ohio (Edward), Timothy Talley of Washington, D.C. (Roseanne), Tod Talley of Arlington, Va. (Monica); grandchildren, Joseph and Anna Talley, Adam Kirk (Teri); and great-grandson, Henry Kirk of Columbus, Ohio.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rockynol Retirement Community and Akron General Hospice of Visiting Nurses for their dedicated and thoughtful care.
Harold will be interred at Rose Hill Burial Park following a private ceremony. He will be remembered with love by his family and with fondness by those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
