Harold W. "Lefty" Wester
Harold W. "Lefty" Wester, 85, died Jan. 16, 2009.
A life resident of Akron, he sang in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Choir of Men and Boys, graduated from Central High School, attended Ohio State University, and served in the Naval Reserves for five years. He owned and operated Wester's Delicatessen, was an accountant at Goodyear Aerospace, retired with 29 years service from Acme Food Service, volunteered at Summa Health System for over ten years and was on the advisory board for Summa Secure. "Lefty" loved tennis, golf, family, friends, and traveling.
He is survived by wife, Florence; sons, Aaron Vera and Kevin; granddaughter, Amelia Rose; brother, Allan Wester; sisters, Alice Hopkins, Vera Talley, and Eileen Llewellyn; sister-in-law, Helen Marcinko; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., where friends may call one hour before services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summa Health System or Summa Home Care.
