Harriette M Atsaroff (Nee Matheny)

November 7, 1925 — April 10, 2016

Harriette M. Atsaroff (nee Matheny)

On April 10, 2016 my Mom, Harriette M. Atsaroff, 90, entered eternal life in our home surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Martinsburg, WV, to Corinne and Mac Matheny, Mom was a graduate of Garfield High School (1943), where she met my Dad, Bob Atsaroff. We lived in Cuyahoga Falls since 1954 in the same home and Mom was a 50 plus year member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls. She was a former Beacon Journal employee and also worked for 27 years at Fallsway Equipment Co., a family business. In addition to our family, Mom loved working in our yard, chatting with neighbors, volunteering and all God's creatures. She gave several years to Family Services (now Greenleaf) and worked at the Firestone NEC Golf Tournaments and also at the Christmas Tree Festival for Children's Hospital.

Preceded in death by her parents, my dad, and her sister, Dee Parker; Mom is survived by her daughter, Marsha and son-in-love, Kevin Arnold; grandsons, Matthew Arnold and his wife, Erin and Ryan Arnold and his wife, Candi; great-grandchildren, Kellyn, Addison, Bobby, Cooper and Casey; nieces and nephews, Pam and Gary Corbett, Tom and Lynn Smith, Sue Blair and fiancé, Kevin Kilgore, Greg and Debra Smith, Tim and Cindy Smith, Roxanne and Jeff Basnett and their children; sister-in-law, Kay Cunningham. She also leaves her very dear friend and constant companion, Gene Wylie and his loving family.

Special thanks to Summa Hospice for all their love and support for over three years, especially Adena and Luanne and Stephanie.

Services will be held 11:30 a.m. THURSDAY at the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 245 Portage Trail, with Dr. David A. Baker Officiating. Entombment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the service begins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087 or the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
