Harter Charles March, 81, of Bath Twp. passed away on January 28, 2025. Harter was born in Rochester, New York on February 14, 1943 to late Dr. Edgar and Mary March (nee Coy). He was a graduate of McKinley High School and attended Mt. Union University and Cleveland State University.

  After his schooling he served in the US Army Special Forces during the Vietnam Era and was a Green Beret, Medic and Airbourne. Harter achieved his Eagle Scout and was a member of the Boys and Girls Club. Following his military career, in his early years he worked in outside construction and after 25 years with Burt Greenwald Chevrolet in sales and service he retired. He was a competitive racquet ball player and enjoyed golfing. During his life he went on 36 cruises around the world and loved his Florida trips and island relaxation.

 Preceded in death by his brothers Edgar III, Philip, Douglas and Christopher March; sister Mary Beth Cool; brother in laws Victor Falconer and William Cool. Harter is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Gretchen (nee Greenwald); sisters April Falconer and Katherine Harmon; sister in laws Susan March, Linda March, Teresa March and Jill and her husband Brian O’Hara; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

 Burial will take place at 2 PM on TUESDAY February 4, 2025 at Rose Hill Burial Park. Funeral service will be at 4 PM on Tuesday February 4, 2025 at The Bath Church 3980 W. Bath Rd. Akron, Ohio 44333 with Rev. Dr. Cindy Parker officiating. Family and friends may visit from 2:30 PM-4:00 PM at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bath Twp. Fire and Rescue 3864 W. Bath Rd. Akron, Ohio 44333 make checks to: Bath Fire Dept., Inc.

 Services in the care of the Billow Funeral Homes and Crematory, 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, OH 44333.
