It is with great sadness that family and friends note the passing of Harvey Aaron Rogers. Harvey was born on September 21, 1956 to Charles W. and Louise (Shiers) Rogers.
He was a 1974 graduate of Hudson High School where he excelled in the study of auto mechanics, achieving many awards.
Harvey showed an early passion for his life's occupation of nearly 40 years. He was an ASC certified mechanic and spent many years employed at Dave Walters in Akron. He eventually struck out on his own, specializing in BMW maintenance and repair.
Harvey was an integral member of the Northern Ohio Chapter BMW Car Club of America (and previous Buckeye Chapter), serving on the Executive Board, as Vice President, Events Chairman and most recently as President. His last days were spent among friends at the club's OktoberFest event at Mid-Ohio Raceway where he received special recognition for all of his years of service and dediction.
Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Rogers; mother, Louise A. (Rogers) Ash; step-father, Robert J. Ash; and most recently by his aunt, Kathleen Jane Williams. He is survived by his loving brother, David W. Rogers of Hudson; his faithful four-legged companion, Tucker; his step sisters, Ellenie Ash of Toledo, Ohio, Maralee Ash of Alachua, Fla., Lorilee Ash -Green (Bethel, Jr.) of Toledo, Ohio; seven neices and nephews, and seven great neices and nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on October 6, 201 at the First Congregational Church in Hudson, Ohio at 10:30 a.m., with private internment. Friends wishing to honor Harvey's life may do so through a Memorial Fund being set up through the Northern Ohio Chapter BMW Car Club of America (nohiobmwcca.org), or to the charity of the donor's choice.
