Heather Albrecht, 68, a beloved daughter and sister, passed away on December 6, 2012, from complications of diabetes at Hickory Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Harrisburg, Pa., on July 2, 1944, Heather was raised in Akron, Ohio, the eldest of six children. She was a graduate of Buchtel High School, class of 1962. Her education continued at Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at Case Western Reserve University where she earned a degree in music theory. An accomplished pianist, Heather enjoyed playing at family gatherings and ballet classes taught by her aunt, Betty King. Heather's gift for music deepened her appreciation for all the arts.
Preceded in death by her father, Frederick I. Albrecht, she is survived by her mother, Francia Holliday Albrecht; brothers, Ivan and Steven (Sophie) Albrecht; sisters, Gwyneth (Samuel) Stites, Tatiana (Richard) Harris, and Monica (Douglas) Kridler; and many nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service open to family and close friends will be held in the Chapel at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Saturday, December 15, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Child Guidance and Family Solutions, 312 Locust St., Akron, OH 44302-1878.
