Fairlawn - Hedwig "Heidi" Elisabeth Buerling (Heid), born on March 22, 1932 in Oberatlertheim Germany to Margaret and Johann Heid, passed away at home January 15, 2016.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bruce; her sister, Berta; brother, Otto; and nephew, Klaus. She is survived by her husband, Siegfried; and sons, Peter (Cindy) and Curt; grandchildren, Benjamin and Elizabeth; and nephew, Rainer (Bergit).

Heidi was a loving mother and devoted wife. Born in Germany, Heidi moved to Canada in 1955 where she met her husband Siegfried who also moved from Germany. While in Canada, she married Siegfried and had her first son Peter. In 1959 Heidi and her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she then had two more sons, Bruce and Curt; and proudly became a United States Citizen. In 1970 she moved with her family to Hale Farm and Village in Bath Ohio, where she resided for the next 45 years. During this time, she first ran the Museum Gift Shop at Hale Farm and then worked for the F.W. Woolworth Company Store in Summit Mall from the Mid 1970s till its closing in the late 1980s at which time she focused on her family. In the last year Heidi and her husband had recently moved from Hale Farm and Village to Fairlawn to enjoy their golden years. Heidi loved to travel and enjoyed yearly trips to Aruba.

Cremation and burial will be held in a private family ceremony. An open Celebration of Life will be held at the Hale Farm and Village Gatehouse, 2686 Oak Hill Rd, Bath, OH 44333, on WEDNESDAY, January 27, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm.
