Helen Christensen Glaser died peacefully in her sleep April 2, 2011.
Born in New Orleans in 1946, she married Elton Glaser, also of New Orleans, in 1968. They moved to Akron in 1972. Helen earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Western Michigan University and a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of Akron. A CPA, she worked for many years for the County of Summit. Since retiring, she had spent most of her time doing the things she especially enjoyed: taking care of her grandchildren, traveling, and knitting and crocheting. She will be terribly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie Preis Christensen and brothers, John Christensen and Richard Christensen; Helen is survived by her husband, Elton Albert Glaser; son, Elton Albert Glaser III; daughter, Christina Glaser Smith; daughter-in-law, Aline Stern; son-in-law, Timothy Smith; grandson, Robert Mitchell Smith; granddaughter, Gwendolyn Grace Smith; sister, Mary Christensen Fraering, Jr.; brother, Robert Christensen and sister, Anita Christensen Muzik.
Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., WEDNESDAY from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial gathering will follow at 7 p.m.
