Marty Gustely died September 9, 2008 after a very brief illness.

She was born on November 23, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to Ralph D. and Helen M. Jones. She attended the Akron Public Schools and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School.

Marty received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Akron in 1951. In her senior year she was President of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and also of the University Panhellnic Council.

She taught fourth grade for one year at Gracemount Elementary School in Cleveland and one half year at Findlay Elementary in Akron before retiring to have her children and raise her family. After her youngest children twin boys reached school age she began a 16 year career at the Taylor Memorial Library in the children's department which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Marty attended and served St. John's Episcopal in Cuyahoga Falls for 47 years. She taught Sunday school, served on Vestry twice, was a member of the Episcopal Church Women, serving one year as its president, an active member of St. Monica's Guild and the Church Altar Guild.

She was a loving wife and mother who inspired her children to be all they could be.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ralph D. Jones Jr.

She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Orwig of Wadsworth, Ohio; her husband of 57 years, Stanley; and her six children, Margo of Arlington, Virginia, Paul of Washington, D.C., David Kim of Twinsburg, Ohio, Kenneth Martha of Coconut Creek, Florida, Keith Tina of Batavia, Illinois, and Edward Dewi of Jakarta, Indonesia; and her seven wonderful grandchildren, Phoebe, Sophia, Anthony, Ben, Abigail, Jason, and Hannah.

She believed that grandchildren are a gift of God to compensate us for growing old.

There are no visitation hours. Her funeral will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 2220 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13th with Rev. Deborah Rankin officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park for the family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund at St. John's Episcopal Church. Billow FALLS Chapel
