Helen S Jaccaud

March 14, 1920 — September 3, 2010

Helen Schmelzer Jaccaud, 90, left this earth September 3, 2010.

Born in Akron, she was a lifetime area resident and member of Faith Lutheran Church. An avid golfer, Helen was an expert in parliamentary procedure and was past president of the American Federation of Women's Clubs. She was a volunteer at Stan Hywet, the League of Women Voters and had received a 25 year pin for volunteering with the American Cancer Society . She was a former member of the Akron Woman's City Club and the Junior Women's Civic Club. She established the Akron Women's Chapter of the National Aeronautic Association Scholarship Fund for the University of Akron's College of Engineering Student Aero Design Team. One of her fondest memories was traveling with the Barnstormin' Barnhills Flying Circus. Helen's wit and sense of humor will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her husband, William; son, James; brothers, Henry and Robert Schmelzer; she is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Jaccaud Zimmerman; daughter-in-law, Judy Jaccaud; granddaughters, Heather David Alfonso, Heidi Jaccaud Jeff Arvay; grandsons, David Jennifer Zimmerman, Brian Morgen Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Sebastian David Graham, Jacob and Tyler Zimmerman, Eva and Vivienne Alfonso, Eden, Elvis and Audrey Arvay; sister, Mary Codding; special friends, James Blount and Linda Richmond.

She would like to leave her favorite motto with you;

``There is a destiny that makes us brothers

None goes his way alone All that we give into the lives of others comes back into our own'.

A memorial service will take place 11 a.m. SATURDAY, September 18, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2726 W. Market St., with Rev. Jean Hansen officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society , 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, Ohio 44406.
