Helen "Lolly" Patsy passed away peacefully on August 29, 2018 at 92 years.
She was born March 25, 1926 and graduated from North High School in 1944. Helen was one of Akron's own "Rosie the Riveter". During World War II manufacturing companies recruited women from local high schools to work until the end of the war. She then started her long career as a secretary at Sun Oil and retired from the Summit County Prosecutor's office. After retirement she was a "demo" person at Apple's in Stow, Ohio.
She was the last surviving relative of the Patsy/Pasquale family who emigrated to the United States from Italy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mauro and Rosa (Cozzoli) Pasquale; brothers and sisters, Josephine (Frank) Bolognue, Joseph (Gloria) Patsy, Tony (Rose) Patsy, Theresa, Vito, and Frank Pasquale; niece Loretta Bolognue; and great nephew, Jason Palmer. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Joan Patsy and Ann (Pasquale) Caster. Aunt Lolly was a devoted aunt and second mother helping to raise 5 generations of family including 14 nieces and nephews; 31 great nieces and nephews; 46 great great nieces and nephews; and 3 great, great, great nieces and nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. James Singler officiating, where friends may call 1 hour before the mass. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 or Macular Degeneration Association, 5969 Cattleridge Blvd., #100, Sarasota, FL 34232.
