Helen J. Sokol, a lifelong resident of Tallmadge, Ohio was called home to be with
her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 22nd. She retired from Summit Country Environmental Services.
Preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and older sister, Dorothy; she is survived by her sister, Betty (BJ) Sokol, from Fairlawn, Ohio;her brother, Clarence from South Carolina and many nieces and nephews whom she loved a lot.
Having experienced 12 years of dialysis, her ability to overcome adversity with faith, courage and determination was an amazement to all who knew and loved her. Her need to live independently until her death was inspiring to all of us, even though we prayed a lot when she drove her car. She would always share with us how God provided the help she needed when confronted with a challenge. She was fun to with because her sense of humor never faded even during the hard times.
Our thanks to Ralph for being her "automobile" angel. To Regina and Rev. Davis for always being there with their friendship and encouragement. To good friend Jacqi, who demonstrated what a friend should be. To special niece, Gloria and brother-in-law John, and their willingness to help and provide great meals.
She especially loved Christmas when her nephews Jim from Atlanta and Larry from California, and their families would visit. There was always a lot of laughter and never a dull moment when Blond Aunt Helen was around. There will always be a part of our heart that belongs only to her and we will miss her terribly.
