Henry E. Zimmerman Jr. , 96, was called home to his Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 25, 2022. Henry (Hank) was born on August 7, 1925, in New York City and was preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. and Anna (Steinbach) Zimmerman Sr. Hank is now reunited with his wife of 70 years, Betty Zimmerman, who led the way to heaven just three months ago.

Hank graduated with Honors from the Stevens Institute of Technology and served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed a productive career in Akron, Ohio as a respected engineer in the rubber and tire industry. Always true to form and function, Hank was analytical and prepared for all things in life, both in work and fun. Hank traveled widely around the world and planted his feet on the soil of every state in our country. Hank will be remembered as a faithful husband, devoted son, loyal friend, and an involved and supportive father and grandfather. His life was an unwavering example of integrity, dependability, and excellence in all things. He was intelligent, always with his nose in a book, yet unpretentious. Hank’s wisdom and quick wit quietly entered conversations and always left an impact. He was generous with his time and resources and was always ready to help friends and family. Hank was full of gratitude for the life and family God gave him.

Hank is survived by his four children and families who will fondly remember him as their “buoy in the sea of life”: Gail (Joe) Bujorian, Lauren Bujorian (Troy Pappas), Allison Bujorian; Joan (Dave) Nilsson; Robert (Ellen) Zimmerman, Matthew (Caitlin) Zimmerman with Cameron and Emmett, Marie (Kevin) Blakely with Rowan and Lennon, Julia (Dylan) Golding; David (Karlyn) Zimmerman, Rachael Zimmerman, Sara Zimmerman.

The family is holding private services and inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery to honor Hank’s influence and legacy.
