Hilda Margaret Schneider Schaadt has taken God's hand. She is together again with her beloved husband, Carl. If a measure of a well lived life is how many people you touch, hers was well lived indeed!
Hilda was born in Akron OH on Christmas Day 1923, the only child of Adam and Elizabeth Schneider. She saw the world through many changes from the Great Depression into the modern age. Hilda met her love, Carl Schaadt, early and married him at just 18. She attended business college and worked up to be an executive secretary for Harvey Firestone Jr. at the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company before leaving after the birth of her second child, for her greater career as Mom.
She enjoyed cooking and baking and everyone enjoyed the fruits of her labors! She was an avid gardener, filling her yard with beautiful flowers. Hilda and her husband, Carl, spent many vacations with their children on the beach, and also touring Europe with a great group of friends that they met through the Akron Rotary Club. Church, family and friends were always the primary focus of her life. She and her granddaughter, Katrina, spent many a delightful day trying nearly every restaurant in Northeast Ohio!
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl; and parents, Adam and Elizabeth Schneider. She leaves her well-loved children, Jeff Schaadt and Judy (Schaadt) Heil; son-in-law, Paul Heil; and cherished granddaughter, Katrina Ariel-Soleil Heil; as well as her cat, "Kitty". Nieces and nephews, Marilyn and Richard Fuerst, Jan, Chris and Katie Savelle, Debbie Schaadt, Kathie and Dutch Wachter, Karen and Dave Campbell, Kristin and John Alban; and sisters-in-law, Helen Widdifield and Lillian Swiger and their children; Stephanie and Matt Ventura, Travis and Megan Francy, and Josh and Christina Francy.
