Hjordis "Kyllan" Mellor

Hjordis "Kyllan" Mellor, 95, died on March 27, 2016.
She was born in Tomelilla, Sweden on August 2, 1920. She attended schools in Kristianstad and Stockholm in 1947. They moved to Akron, Ohio in 1953, when her husband joined Goodyear Aerospace Corporation.
She was active in many local organizations over the years including Trustee of the Akron Art Institute, a member of the Women's Board of Akron City Hospital, Friends of the Library, Stan Hywet Hall Women's Board, Cuyahoga Falls Women's Club, The Turkeyfoot Island Club and Portage Country Club.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she was past president of the Women's Board, taught Sunday school and served on the Alter Guild and Quiet Committee. She was a wonderful homemaker, avid gardener, and an avid bridge player.
She was preceded in death by husband Frederic. She is survived by son, Frederic III (Annica) and their daughter, Lisa of Uppsala, Sweden; son, Donald of Akron, Ohio; and daughter, Pamela of Westlake, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews in Sweden.
There will be no calling hours. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 West Market Street, will take place on Saturday April 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Mark Pruitt officiating. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, The Akron City Hospital Women's Board or your favorite charity.
