Irene D. Barrington

Irene D. Barrington, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Rockynol Senior Living in Akron.

Born in Birmingham, England she immigrated to the United States in February of 1959 with her husband, Charlie, and children, Angela and David aboard the Cunard liner, Sylvania, landing in New York Harbor.

Then on to Akron where Charlie was an engineer with Goodyear Aerospace. The Barrington family lived in Stow for many years. Irene was a volunteer at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, she was also a member of the Akron City Women’s Club and the Crooked River Women’s Chorale.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charlie in 2013; parents, George and Emily Fieldhouse; and sisters, Connie Fieldhouse, Ida Williams and Stella Rollason. She is survived by her son, David Barrington; daughter, Angela (Robert) Darragh; grandchildren, David, Brent and Andrew Barrington and Nicole Darragh.

Private inurnment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
