Ivalou (Lou) Marie Dillon

Ivalou (Lou) Marie Dillon was a daughter, mother, mother-in-law, wife, sister, grandma, aunt/great aunt, loyal friend and loved by all who knew her.

She was born to the late Earl and Eva Fields on December 19, 1927, and spent 96 years on this Earth living life to the fullest. She was a woman of God, loved her family above all, traveled the world (literally every continent), RV’d across America and moved to Bath, OH, to be closer to her son and his family after the birth of her grandson. Her latest adventure was ziplining at age 95.

Her favorite career experience was at Lockheed Martin in Lompoc, California, at Vandenberg Airforce Base, where she worked with NASA astronauts, including those who manned the Challenger Space Shuttle in 1986.

She loved to listen to her grandson Sam play drums or the guitar, and she cherished her time as a volunteer at the Akron Blind Center. Among her many talents, she was a beautiful painter and delivered the best one-liners ever.

She has been reunited with loved ones in Heaven and will be missed dearly by those of us here.

Lou is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Karen Hogan of Bath, OH; grandsons Samuel Hogan of Bath and Alex Hogan (Jessica) and his sons in Bakersfield, CA; nephew Brad Miller of Gulfport, MS, and niece Vicki Kessler of Franklin, TN, and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Evelyn Fields, husband Tom Dillon, son Dana Nitz and sister Donna Keeton.

Visitation is Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4-6 p.m., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6 p.m. at Billow Funeral Home 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Lou, she would be honored for those to go to the Akron Blind Center .
