Born in Akron, he was a graduate of Kent State University and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in 5 invasions in World War II.
Preceded in death by wife, Norma; he is survived by children, Jack Davis, Jill Johnson and Shelly Savan; grandchildren, Jack and Ben Davis, Will Johnson, and Brent and Steve Savan; step sons, Doug and Mark Bader; step grandchildren, Bill, Steve and Jack Bishop, and Tracy (Graham) Murphy; and step grandson, Lincoln Murphy.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
