Jack Richard Price was a cherished father, grandfather, uncle, and husband who filled our lives with love during his incredible 79 years. He passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, November 16, 2024, surrounded by the family he adored.

Born on January 23, 1945, in Texarkana, Arkansas, Jack was the third child of Norman and Dorothy Price. He grew up in Akron, Ohio, where he formed countless friendships and memories in the Firestone Park neighborhood. With a big heart and a friendly smile, Jack was known by everyone in town, whether he was hanging out at Heintz Park, cruised the Flame Drive-In and Lujan’s, walking the halls of Garfield High School, or playing sports. Jack’s love for athletics was evident throughout his time at Garfield, where he excelled in football and basketball, laying the foundation for a spirited love of competition that would stay with him for life.

Jack’s love story with his high school sweetheart, Angie Guarino, blossomed during those vibrant years. On June 8, 1968, they exchanged vows embarking on a journey of love and partnership that would last a lifetime. Shortly after their wedding, Jack was called to active duty as an Army reservist and stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland, where amongst other duties ran the cleanest mess hall in all of the land.

Together, Jack and Angie had three loving children: Jeff Price (Victoria) and their children Jenna and Kohl, Jodi Santos (Derrick) and their children Austin (Brooke) and Lilyan, and Maria Bisconti (Justin) and their children Dante and Mila. Jack poured his heart into being a grandfather, attending every event and celebrating every milestone with enthusiasm.

Jack held family dear. His bond with his late brother Bob Price (Linda) and late sister Norma Smith (Dale) remained strong throughout his life. Jack always had special loving support from his sister-in-law, Phyllis Musarra; brothers-in-law, Tony Guarino and Sam Musarra and their families. He took immense joy in his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cherishing the moments spent with them and the love they shared. Jack's steadfast dedication to family will always serve as a guiding light in our lives.

For 50 years, Jack dedicated himself to his career, working at AC & Y/Norfolk Southern Railroad as a Roadmaster, Yellow Freight as a Terminal Operations Manager, and the Stow Munroe Falls School District. No matter the role, Jack’s perfectionism and dedication shone through, making a lasting impact on those around him.

Throughout his entire life, Jack treasured large family gatherings for the holidays, especially Christmas, birthdays, swim picnics and our Halloween parties. In retirement, Jack embraced life with open arms. He cherished the time spent with family, creating memories at grandchildren’s games, forever nurturing his beloved landscape, exploring the Hartville Flea Market, and enjoying carefree moments with good friends from the Wexford neighborhood.

Preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Dorothy Price; his brother, Bob; and sister, Norma. He is survived by his devoted family. Jack Richard Price was a beacon of love and joy in our lives. We will forever remember his ability to add humor to every situation, and the lessons, and generosity he shared with us. His legacy of family, kindness, and joy will carry on in our hearts, shaping our lives for years to come. Rest in peace, dear Jack; we love you always.
