Jackson Ellwood Casteel, 84, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic.
Born in Dungannon, Virginia to Omar and Ethel Casteel, he lived most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing. He was a great mechanic and ran his own service station for many years. After that, he gave 25 years of service to the state of Ohio as a Drivers License Examiner. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany, and also served as a volunteer firefighter.
Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet (nee Bauer); daughters, Karen (Tom) Larson and Jackie (Jack) Arnold; sons, Kevin Casteel, Stephen (Monique) Casteel, and Joseph Casteel; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St, Cuyahoga Falls, on Thursday, March 15, from 5-8 pm. Father Singler will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Friday, March 16, at 11:00 am. Interment will Follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
