Dr. Jae L. Stafford
Dr. Jae L. Stafford, 61, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on February 9, 2009 after a brief illness.
Jae grew up in Dresden, Ohio and graduated from Mansfield School of Nursing, received his anesthesia training at the University of Pittsburgh, received his Bachelor's Degree in Anesthesia from Wayne State University, received his Master's Degree from The Ohio State University where he was Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Division in the School of Allied Medical Professions, he was the Director of Nurse Anesthesia School at Aultman Hospital and established the Nurse Anesthesia program at University of Akron. He received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Administration at Greenwich University and was most recently employed at the Crystal Clinic Surgery Center for the last nine years. He was the co-founder of SLP Medical Supplies and an active member and past president of the Akron Chapter of Ducks Unlimited as well as an active member of Hills and Dale Gun Club.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marjorie; survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Roberta Lee; son, Edward Joseph; daughter, Shiryl Anne; and many loving friends and acquaintances.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday at the Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd., Akron with Pastor Brenda Young officiating.
