James M. Batton
Jim "Mickey" Batton, 77, walked into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
Jim was born in Akron, Ohio on October 28, 1941, son of the late Rumsey and Mildred (Vorwerk) Batton.
Jim graduated from Stow H.S. in 1959 and attended Kent State University. He served in the USAF, stationed in Shemya, Alaska. He was a member of Star Lodge No. 187F.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (Combs) Batton. He was especially proud of his two daughters, Jennifer Batton of Hudson and Jacqueline (Aaron) Vail of Bath. Jim is also survived by one sister, Florene Batton of Cuyahoga Falls; and one brother, Donald Batton of Worthington; 12 nieces and nephews, loving family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Calvert, David, Thomas, William and Robert.
Jim retired from Terex as Service Manager, N.A. Backhoe Loaders in Lawrenceville, GA. Traveling the world was second nature to him and he would study maps with great pleasure. He was always up for a road trip.
In retirement, he spent many hours on the farm in WV mowing the fields on his Ford Tractor. Afterwards, he enjoyed sitting on the farmhouse porch chatting with his good neighbors.
A private Celebration of Life was held November 1. Inurnment will take place at Shiloh Cemetery in WV at a later date.
