James Crook

October 11, 1940 — June 12, 2016

James A. Crook, 75, went home to be with the Lord Sunday June 12, 2016.

He was born October 11, 1940 in New Brighton, PA to James P. and Evelyn F. (Pickard) Crook (both deceased). He was a loving husband and father and was dearly loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Carol (Keppen) Crook; brother, Timothy (Lynda) of Texas; sisters, Linda Grossglass (Hal) of Circleville, OH and Amy Bond (Bill) of Erie, PA; son, R. Jason Crook (Keri); daughter Christine Brown (Dar); grandchildren, Bryan, Rachel, Garret, Victoria, Hollie, and Peyton; and many nieces and nephews.

He retired from Babcock & Wilcox of Barberton, Ohio as their Manager of Training and Process and began working for Four Seasons Patio Company as a regional manager for several years. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Mechanical Engineering Degree and went on to earn a Master's Degree at the University of Akron in Business Administration. He was registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio. He was called by the Lord to enter the ministry in 1996 and graduated from Shalom Bible College & Seminary of W. Des Moines, Iowa with a Ph.D. in Nouthetic Counseling. He had made several mission trips to Kenya and Jamaica with his wife teaching and establishing schools as well pastoring a home group and teaching in The Shepherd's School of Ministry which he and his wife established in 2001. He served on the Bath for Best Committee and helped to keep Bath rural for the next one hundred years. He also served as Membership Chairman for three years for the Akron Orchid Society.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. where friends may call 1 hour before services. Interment at Moore's Chapel Cemetery on N. Hametown Rd.
