James Lee 'Jim' Fisher III, 65, passed away September 14, 2009 after a short illness.
Mr. Fisher was born in Akron, Ohio on April 10, 1944 to James Lee, Jr. and Maxine Fisher. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and his J.D. from the University of Akron. He worked for the City of Akron Planning Department, Al Spaulding Associates, recently retiring from Buckingham, Doolittle and Burroughs.
Mr. Fisher was active in the Copley Lions Club and served on the Associate Board of Stan Hywet Hall Foundation. He was an avid O.S.U. Buckeye fan. He was also an active member of Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy Lorenz Fisher; and father-in-law, Edwin C. Lorenz; Mr. Fisher is survived by his brother, John D. Carole Fisher of Lisbon and his sister, Cheryl Sumner Fisher of Wadsworth and his mother-in-law, Betty Lorenz of Stone Creek.
Family and friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., THURSDAY from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held 11 a.m. FRIDAY at Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ, with Rev. David Loar officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at Stone Creek Cemetery at 11 a.m. SATURDAY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ, 2095 W.
