James Cooper Hallett

July 5, 1919 — August 7, 2011

James Cooper Hallett went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Edi, on Sunday, August 7, 2011.

He was born on July 5, 1919, in Akron, Ohio, and was a lifelong resident of Akron. He was a Captain in the army during World War II, where he served in the China-Burma-India Theater. He retired from the Hardware & Supply Co. after 46 years of service, and was a Sunday School teacher at the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist for over 50 years. He received his Bachelor's degree in business from the University of Akron, and his Master's in library science from Kent State University.

Jim had a wonderful sense of humor, and was loved by everyone who ever knew him. Like Will Rogers, Jim never met anyone he didn't like, and he will be missed by us all.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edith; and is survived by his children, April Tom Pascu of Akron, Jim of Hawaii, and Rick Linda of Arizona; four grandchildren, Jessica Mike, Ricky Deb, Brian Christy and Narm; and one great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Edith.

A very special thanks to all the wonderful staff at the Ledges at Rockynol for taking such good care of ``Jimbo.'
