James Patrick “Pat” Hinman born March 11, 1950 entered into eternal rest September 21, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine. Siblings Julie Mikolajczyk (Bill), Michael Hinman (Kathy), Susan Bechemer (Mel deceased), Tim Hinman (Gayle), Mother-in-Law LaVerne Mansour (George deceased), Brother-in-Law Bruce “Beau” Mansour (Susan), Dennis Mansour (Carmen-Idalia) many nieces and nephews, and fur babies Annie, Buddy, Bella and Bitty.
Pat enjoyed life to the fullest and he never met a stranger. Through hard-work and strategic planning, he retired after 26 years of service at United Parcel Service at age 48. His route was downtown Akron and he was a member of Teamster’s Local 248. In his 23 years of retirement, Pat enjoyed riding his Harley, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, golf, bowling, cars and being with friends and family.
Pat received a kidney transplant in 2015 through the Swap Program at Cleveland Clinic. Twelve people were involved (6 donors and 6 recipients) including Christine who donated on his behalf.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the National Kidney Foundation 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive, Columbus, OH 43231.
The family would like to thank all the Caregivers at Cleveland Clinic especially the ICU at Euclid Hospital and the Main Campus for their compassionate care.
A church service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 50 North Prospect Street, Akron, OH, 44304 at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 28 with a bereavement meal to follow. The service will also be broadcast livestream at www.holytrinityakron.org/funeral.
