James A Mascolo

James A. Mascolo, 71, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 15, 2015.

He was born in Akron, Ohio on September 12, 1944 to the late Louis and Isabel Mascolo. Jim was a graduate of Buchtel High School class of 1963 and attended The University of Akron. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 and was awarded a Purple Heart, The Bronze Star and The Silver Star for courageous service.
Jim was our beloved family "curmudgeon" who enjoyed horses, working on cars and a good game of cards with friends and family.
Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis and Robert. He is survived by his sister, Carol (Alan) Garren; sisters-in-law, Patricia Mascolo and Diane Mascolo; eight nieces and nephews; eighteen great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at the VA Clinic in Akron, the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and Heroes Harbor Hospice for their special care of Jim.

Friends may call SATURDAY from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., where the service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
