James E. Mckibben

James E. McKibben, age 85, passed away surrounded by his loving family after battling a long illness on August 19, 2013.

He was born in Copley on June 8, 1928 to the late Floyd Garvin and Helen McKibben. James married Edna Mae Morehouse on November 13, 1948 and they spent 46 wonderful years together until her passing in September of 1994. He worked for First National Bank for over 30 years before his retirement. James also worked for Acme after retirement from First National Bank. He was a devoted member of Copley United Methodist Church and in his spare time he enjoyed participating in numerous fraternities and local senior citizen organizations.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae; sons, Michael and Patrick; brother-in-law, Thomas Morehouse and son-in-law, Robert Comely, Sr. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Comely; daughter-in-law, Jane McKibben; sister-in-law, Barbara Morehouse; grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Anthony, Christopher, William, Natalie and Kristen; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.

He will forever be remembered for his giggle.

The family will accept "friends and relation" at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., on FRIDAY from 3 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church. Services will be held at Copley United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
