James M. Taylor, Jr., 82, died October 4, 2012.
A graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and the U.S. Navy School of Music, he was a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls until retiring to Hiram for 12 years. Remembered by many for his Donald Duck voice, he had been very active with the Boy Scouts of America and was a former member of Bethany United Church of Christ and the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls. Jim was a steel salesman, retired from the Simcox Grinding and Steel Company, and had played in the Al Day Orchestra for many years.
Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Marianne; infant daughter, Vicki Lynn; and parents, James and Forest; he is survived by his children, Kathy (Gary) Moffet of Cuyahoga Falls; Dennis of Hiram, Jay (Kris) of Chardon, Don and Tom (Teri) Taylor of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Amy Moffet, Erin (Matt) Barkis, Katy, Brenna, and Ian Taylor, Ethan, Colin and Donovan Taylor; sisters, Barbara Norton and Cheryl (Ed) Welch; and niece, Marianne (Don) Williams.
Services will be held 11 a.m. MONDAY at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with Rev. officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home SUNDAY from 4-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Camp Manatoc, c/o the Boy Scouts of America, P.O. Box 68, Akron, Ohio 44309-1664. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
