James L. Troughton

December 13, 1947 — October 11, 2013

James Troughton was born on December 13, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to the late Thelma and Louis Troughton. He passed away on October 11, 2013.

He leaves two sisters, Pearl (Keith) Zaynor and Phyllis Stolnicki, as well as three nieces, Susan (Philip) Griesinger, Sharon Zaynor and Debra Tomlinson; and three nephews, Jeffrey (Teri) Zaynor, William Yensen, and Michael Yensen. He also has nine grandnieces and nephews.

Uncle Jimmy spent his life as a teacher. He taught us to never judge by what we think we see. Accept and love ourselves for who we are. He taught us patience and to keep a sense of humor even though we might be facing a life full of great adversity. He showed us that with silent gentleness there can be tremendous strength. He reminded us to love unconditionally and to leave the past in the past; to slow down and always take small bites. Simple is best. By example, he taught us that every life is important and intended to have great purpose. God does not make mistakes.

His graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44333. Please help us celebrate Uncle Jimmy's life by donating, in his honor, to a place where he found so much love and support, The Shalom House South, 1480 College Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43209.
